From 30TH September to 1ST October in the French town of Chevy-Laurel, where the Maison du Conte is located, the European "Babelia" conference will take place. These days are organised through the European Network of Storytelling Cities and Towns project.

On this occasion, the Maison du Conte, one of the partners of this European project funded by the European Executive Agency for Education and Culture (EACEA), has been in charge of organising this conference. The programme included conferences and professional meetings, as well as the performance of the show with European storytellers that was created last June during the Creative Residence in Sigüenza (Guadalajara).

In the professional meetings area, the European project European Network of Storytelling Cities and Places will be discussed, with the participation of local managers, associations and professionals involved in the promotion and dissemination of oral storytelling.

There will also be a conference on orality and the influence of languages on stories. In addition, participatory workshops open to the public will be held on stories and narrations in different languages in a clear commitment to multilingualism.

The show "Il était una vez jeden utopická viaggio a történeteken keresztül em seis línguas" (Once upon a time a utopian journey through fairy tales in six languages)" will be performed at the Maison du Conte on the evening of 30TH September and also on 1ST October.

This storytelling show was premiered in June in Guadalajara (Spain) during the 31st edition of the Storytelling Marathon. Next year, this show will also be presented in Bratislava (Slovakia), where the University is one of the partners of this European project.

The information and programme of this conference can be consulted at this link: https://lamaisonduconte.com/evenement/babelia-journees-europeennes/. Participation is free of charge, subject to prior registration.

In addition, a working meeting of the partners of the European Network of Storytelling Cities and Places project is scheduled to be held at the Maison du Conte to analyse the evolution of the activities being carried out.

The European Network Storytelling Towns (ENST), managed by Seminario de Literatura Juvenil de Guadalajara, has as partners - Comenius University of Bratislava (Slovakia), Maison du Conte de Chevilly-Larue (France) and Fondazione per Leggere (Italy). This is the sixth European project coordinated by the SLIJ.
